Sept 8 Glacier Park

Warmish, calm, 55 degrees when we left the cabin at 11 am.

Drove up going to the sun road and back down. Overcast moved in but still warmish in the 60s.

Drove out past fish camp to where the paved road ends.  We think the webcam for apgar overlook was in the hills to our south.

Came back hung out around camp. Found the two Apgar village webcams.  Still warmish and calm. People kayaking g on a calm lake in shorts ant t shirts.

Went to dinner at Eddies around 6. Looking out the window at 7 we could see the wind had picked up.   Came out and there was a stiff cold wind. Clouds mostly blew away. 2 ft waves breaking on the lake shore.

Beautiful sunset.

Expecting snow in the high country tonight or tomorrow.

Sept 5 Cranbrook to Waterton Park, Alberta

We arrived in Waterton, worried about finding a place to stay, since we had had a hard time in Cranbrook, but found a really nice place right on the lake and across from the Prince of Wales hotel.  Love looking at historic hotels, but they are not always comfortable.

View of Prince of Wales from our room - we will go there for Tea tomorrow.

Had a lovely meal at the restaurant adjoining our hotel, the http://www.bayshoreinn.com , tried local brewery....  Big rock scottish red

Sept 4 Richland to Spokane to Cranbrook, BC

Spokane has a great riverfront park, with a giant red wagon and a goat that really sucks... Trash!

You push a button on the brick wall and a vacuum cleaner starts, then you put a piece of paper by the goat's mouth and it gets sucked into a waste receptacle.

Cranbrook BC kinda sucked... Not sure why but we just didn't like it.

September 3 2014 - Klamath Falls to Richland, Washington

On the road at 9:10
Finally made it to Deschutes Brewery Pub in downtown Bend at 12:15, after getting lost (again) and going to the brewery first.
Food and beer were just as good as last time.
Berry cobbler...mmmmm

September 2 2014 Home to Klamath Falls

Passed through Redding and took a quick look at the Sundial Bridge, but it was too hot to get out of the car.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundial_Bridge_at_Turtle_Bay

It was very smoky due to a fire in the Klamath forest.  The whole north valley had nasty air.

We have a favorite webcam at Mt. Shasta, but no desire to go looking for it, so we pulled  this photo from the web the next day

For a current view, check out this link The webcam at Shasta

Had a nice dinner at the Thai Orchid in Klamath Falls, a good night at HIE.
